Lifelong Friends

Hi, we are Courtney and Landyn! We are very grateful for your time and are happy to share as much as we can about our story and our dream of adoption.

We met when we were children, growing up in the same church in a rural community in Washington state. We began dating in high school—even though we attended rival high schools across the river from each other. We have fond memories of cheering for each other, like when Courtney suited up for her volleyball team.

We dated long distance after high school when we went to different colleges on opposite sides of the state....

Meet Courtney

Ever since I can remember, I’ve loved reading, and this set my course for the world of libraries. Books provided me with an escape—exciting characters, creative plots, and gripping stories. As I grew older, my love for books led me to a career as an archivist, where I handle documents that are part of history. I get to experience that story firsthand.

Aside from my job, I have begun playing beach volleyball since moving to New Orleans. It's been a great way to meet people in our new community and dust off skills I learned in high school. New Orleans also has a vibrant...

Meet Landyn

As a child, I wanted to learn about everything—sports, science, languages, and music were just a few of my interests. I was fortunate to have family and friends who encouraged me to many different opportunities. While I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a lawyer when I grew up, I also sang in a quartet, did theater, and tried (without much success!) sports ranging from wrestling to slow-pitch softball. Fortunately, I had a bit more success in my side job as a sports broadcaster.

I recently transitioned from being a practicing lawyer to a new career as a law professor...

Every Day is an Adventure

We share many passions. Whether it’s board game nights with friends, supporting our favorite local sports teams, bouldering at a rock climbing gym, or training for our next big run, we enjoy sharing time with each other. We can’t wait to share these adventures with a child.

At times, we’re literally on the same team. We've recently taken up beach volleyball, and we enjoy playing two-on-two tournaments as teammates. One of our wildest experiences was teaming up to run an 8-hour relay race. Between the two of us, we completed 34 miles in 92-degree heat. Now,...

Family Ties

We are incredibly fortunate to have family all over the country. Everywhere we’ve lived, we’ve developed close relationships that transcend friendship. From “friendsgivings,” group vacations, and game nights, we have always been able to turn to our friends for support and companionship.

We both grew up with loving families. Whether we’re making Swedish pancakes with Courtney’s family or sharing in Japanese feasts to honor Landyn’s cultural roots, we cherish our traditions and memories. We always feel their support wherever we live.

Our Community

We love our wonderful home in New Orleans. Our unit has two spacious bedrooms and a kitchen, dining area, and living room. It is in a beautiful part of the city, surrounded by parks, the Audubon Zoo, and fun music and eateries. We are excited about our adventure in New Orleans, and we're grateful that there are multiple, daily flights that make it easy to visit our friends and family in the Mid-Atlantic.

Thank You

We are so appreciative that you let us share some of our memories and dreams with you. We are thankful for your decision to consider an adoption plan.

We could not be more excited to be parents. We promise to embrace the child with love and to always strive to be better parents. Our extended family will welcome the child with acceptance and open arms.

If chosen as adoptive parents, your child’s story will become our story. And you will be a part of that story. We dearly hope that we might someday meet and stay in touch. But regardless of the openness that you prefer,...
